The calendar view enables the user to search for assets simply by clicking on a selected day from a calendar view. The user requires no typing.
Calendar search is also a tool to structure the presentation of assets based on predefined configuration using the assets' metadata. Unlike the Thumb or List view that presents all the library’s assets as they arrive by default, the Calendar view default configuration presents the assets based on “asset created.” However, this default configuration does not reflect the Calendar search potential in full.
The calendar view is exceptionally suited for repeating events since all available content is immediately visible in the calendar's thumb view without manually typing in search parameters. (This requires predefined calendar searches visible as legends)
Default configuration
The calendar search is by default not activated. Clients must contact NEP support for activation and configuration.
Once activated, the calendar search is by default configured without any predefined filters and no search restrictions. (The user can click on a date to view the available assets).
The assets are sorted in the calendar by the default search parameter “asset created.”
It is common to refine the search and define the calendar views to reflect the highest interest content. This is done by defining predefined search filters. For example, it could be events, series, on-air dates, or similar media content.
Clicking on the calendar view icon, the calendar appears in the list/thumb view. When a user selects a legend inside the calendar, the events that happened that date will be listed in the thumb view, replacing all other assets.
Enter and exit Calendar view
When entering the Library, the default view is the Thumb view. To enter the Calendar search, click the calendar icon (highlighted in yellow).
If any asset/event search is active, it will be cleared and replaced with the predefined searches in the calendar view (represented by the colorful icons).
To leave the Calendar view and return to the default Thumb view, click the calendar icon again. Returning to the thumb view will activate the default search.
It is possible to customize legends in size, text, and colors.
Who can use the Calendar view?
The calendar search is available for Basic price plan customers and above.
How to enable Calendar view.
The calendar view must be configured by NEP customer support, and it is based on metadata. As earlier mentioned, asset collections could be from Sports Events or Tv series. Typical properties (metadata, tags, keys) could be "EventDate," "Match ID," and so forth.
