The new search improvements in Mediabank makes it easier to find your assets using different methods in a coherent way.
There are 4 different search modes:
- Simple search
- Calendar search
- Advanced search
In addition, we have Saved searches, Projects and Groups.
The different modes are described in the manual Searching for Assets and Events.
In this guide, we will use a term called "breadcrumb". This is a way of describing the 'path' for navigation in the selected search mode. The screenshot will illustrate what that means:
All search modes except Simple search has their own trigger button. They are positioned to the left of the search input field:
Calendar and Collection buttons only appear if those search modes are configured on the account.
When a search mode is activated the button is coloured.
No active buttons mean that Simple search is used.
To activate a search mode, simply click on the mode you want.
To deactivate a search mode, click the button again to go back to Simple search or activate another mode by clicking its button.
When a search mode is activated it triggers a breadcrumb. This behaves a little different in the various modes:
Calendar mode: Change month by clicking the current month in the breadcrumb:
(For a more in-depth guide on how to use the Calendar feature, click here)
Collections mode: Click in the path of the breadcrumb to navigate. The breadcrumb path exists of <Collections>//.
Example: Collections/Sport Events/Soccer
In this case all assets under Soccer will be shown.
To navigate back a level to see all sub collections, just click on “Sports Events” in the breadcrumbs.
To see all collections, click on “Collections” in the breadcrumbs
Saved searches, Projects and Groups: To activate a Saved search, Project or Group click on the archive button to bring up the list:
From the list, select the item you want.
If you for instance want to select another Saved search, just click on the breadcrumb to bring up the list again, and select a different item:
Advanced Search: Click the Advanced search to bring up the Advanced search-panel:
Here you can construct a search, save and edit Quickfilters and Saved searches or handle notifications as previously.
Review & Approval / Compliance
In Review & Approval and Compliance you’ll find active filters as breadcrumbs under the search input field:
To disable the default filter, click on the archive button.
To reactivate filter or select a saved search, click the archive button again and select the default filter or saved search. To activate Advanced search, click the Advanced search button and do the search.
Be aware that closing Advanced search by clicking the button also resets the search.
