Calendar search enables the user to search for assets simply by clicking on a selected day from a calendar view. No typing is needed by the user.
Calendar search is also a tool to structure the presentation of assets, based on predefined metadata. Unlike the Thumb or List view that presents all the library’s assets as they arrive by default, the Calendar view is by default presenting the assets based on “asset created”. However, the default configuration does not reflect the Calendar search potential.
The calendar view is exceptionally suited for repeating events since all available content is immediately visible in the calendar's thumb view without manually typing in search parameters. (This requires predefined calendar searches visible as legends)
The new calendar search is by default not activated. Customers must contact NEP support for activation and configuration.
Once activated, the calendar search is by default configured without any predefined filters and no search restrictions. (The user can click on a date to view the available assets).
The assets are sorted in the calendar by the default search parameter “asset created”
The user decides the type of content that should be visible in the calendar view by defining predefined search filters. It could be events, series, on-air date or similar media content.
At present time, the calendar search is available from W1 only.
Clicking on the calendar view icon (ref image below), the calendar appears in the list/thumb view. When a user selects a legend, all the Events that took place at that date will be listed in the thumb view, replacing all other assets. If there was an active advanced search, it is cleared as well.
How to enable Calendar view.
The calendar view must be configured by customer service. They need to know the metadata calendar view should use in order to optimize the view. As earlier mentioned, asset collections could be from Sports Events or Tv series. Typical properties (tags, keys) could be "EventDate", "Match ID", and so forth.
Who can use the Calendar view?
The calendar search is available for Basic price plan customers and above.
Enter and exit Calendar view
When entering the Library, the default view is workspace 1 (W1) also referred to as Thumb view. To enter the Calendar search, click the calendar icon (1).
If any asset/event search is active at the present time, it will temporarily be cleared and replaced with the predefined searches in the calendar view (represented by the colorful icons). The user will also be notified by a pop-up window that says; “Using calendar mode will override other search filters. Do you want to continue?”
To leave the Calendar view and return to the default W1 view, click the orange calendar icon (2). Returning to the thumb view will activate (if any) the user's previous active search filters.
Legends can be fully customized in size, text, and colors.
