A new window with the asset loaded in the mediaplayer and all its metadata pops up by clicking twice on the asset thumb. Quickview is a quick way to get detailed information and even inspect the asset through the mediaplayer. It is possible to open the different metadata headers to the right of the player window the obtain detailed information.
The Quick view feature is read-only, and to edit the metadata, the user must go to Asset properties (W3).
After a quick view of the asset, it is also possible to send it to a destination by clicking on the "Add to M.box" button or scroll thru other assets using the "Previous-Next" buttons. To enable modifications of the asset's metadata, click the "Assets properties W3" button.
When an asset appears to be corrupted or missing vital metadata, it is possible to run "Update Mediainfo" on the selected asset. Both the proxy and master must be available to run this feature. If an error message like the one below appears, ask NEP support for help.
Update scrubbing poster
Sometimes the assets scrubbing poster is missing making it difficult to ensure the correct asset is selected. It is possible to use the Quickview feature, but there is another and even quicker way to scroll through the asset. When choosing an asset by clicking once in the thumb, a message saying "Click to scrub" appears. Hover over the thumb with the mouse and scroll through the media in a couple of seconds.
When the scrubbing posters are absent for various reasons, choose "Update scrubbing poster" to create new scrubbing posters.
Mediabank automatically produces scrubbing posters from the assets (proxy file) when they are uploaded. Mediabank generates a scrubbing poster (jpg image) approximately every 6'th seconds throughout the asset ( proxy file).
Set "thumb" poster
The below assets thumbs contain informative posters and reflect the media content, but occasionally they do not, and a new and better poster is required. It is possible to manually generate a new thumb poster from the existing scrubbing posters.
Scroll through the asset using the scrubbing poster until a suitable image appears. Then, go to the main menu, look in the Tasks features, and chose "Set Poster" to replace the old one.
The default Mediabank thumb poster is generated 11 seconds from the asset's start during upload and proxy generation. Users with admin rights can change the default poster selection from "Admin - account settings" and "Company" under the Administrative Tasks.
Search for configuration name: PNGPosterEncodingParameters and change the default configuration value from 11 to the desired seconds: -y -r 1 -ss 00:00:11 -t 00:00:01 -f mjpeg -vf scale=640:-2
Every uploaded asset will, from now on, use the new default setting.
